Bos Taurusby Curtis EckermanBos the half-giant is 1210 and weighs about 660 lbs. He is unusually large for a half-giant. He does not know how he acquired his condition but it is definitely noticeable. Bos family was killed When he was very young. He remembers glimpses of the shouting, and screaming and the fire that consumed his family but not much else. If he ever finds out who did this to his family he will seekthem out no matter what, however, he has little hope of that happening. He himself was saved from the fire but does not know how. (The truth is that a fey maiden saved Bos from the fire and gave Bos the ability of Giantism and Frenzy before she left. She did this in the hope that it would help him survive in the future for surely he had a rough life ahead of him. She is also the one who found him a family to live with.). He was taken in by a local british couple who raised him. Eventually Bos had to leave his adopted family because his large size was creating problems. He left to seek adventure at the young age of 16. Bos large size made him very clumsy in his youth which added to peoples natural tendency to avoid him. This clumsiness got him into a lot of trouble but also was a blessing a few times. Throughout his life, Bos has always felt compelled to protect people ..and he did. He became fairly well known for his strength and fighting ability and was employed numerous times to protect someone. On one occasion he was protecting a wood fairy (he did not realize it was a fairy) on her journey. She and Bos were ambushed along the trail. The bandits were trying capture the fairy (they knew who she was) and attacked Bos with poison darts. His large size made him an easy target and he found himself near death while the bandits left with his charge. Fortunately, another fairy, her brother, was trailing them. He followed just in case something happened. He healed Bos. Bos vengeful nature and his sense of duty to the fairy maiden caused him to immediately set out to save her. However, the brother knew that he could not save his sister but that Bos would be vulnerable to poison and so he granted Bos immunity to poison (Bos does not realize this). Bos eventually caught up with the bandits and destroyed them. He was attacked with the darts again but they did not affect him (later he just thought that they did not have time to poison them). Over the years Bos generally ventured out alone in search for adventure. He was challenged many times by young adventurers. Bos can never refuse a challenge (Bos has a geas on him that he must never refuse a challenge ..he is not aware of the geas itself but certainly feels an almost unnatural duty to answer to all challenges) but that doesnt mean that he has to kill. Usually in a fight he subdues the young adventure seeker and lets him/her live to learn from his/her mistake of not picking on someone his or their own size. On one occasion Bos was traveling through unfamiliar territory and did not receive a very warm welcome. He stayed out of the way and out of sight but eventually a great warrior came out to challenge him. this warrior was a large gentleman for a human. He also fought with Bos preferred weapon .the warhammer. The battle that ensued was legendary. Bos recognized at once that the warhammer this stranger carried was special it was finely crafted and hurt more than usual when it hit him. He used all of his strength and fighting ability to defeat this human. He broke his own hammer on the final blow that struck the warrior in the head .the challenger died instantly. Now Bos himself has this warhammer. The warhammer also has other abilities but they are unknown to Bos at the moment. As a result of that battle Bos himself was very badly wounded. The battle was a private matter just between him and the challenger and so there was nobody around to help him. He collapsed soon after the battle from the loss of blood He awoke much later to find his wounds bandaged and a fire going nearby A man in priests clothes stood over the fire tending to a pot of food. The priest turned out to be Rodrick. He was traveling through the area when he came upon Bos. Because of Rodricks help, Bos now feels that he owes him his life. He has vowed to follow him until either he has saved Rodrick or either one of them dies. Even though Bos is now more interested in the glory of adventuring, he still occasionally hires out as a body guard. This at least keeps his large stomach full. He also receives money from a sheep farm that he owns. The land was a gift from one of the many clients that he protected over the years. Eventually someone approached him about raising sheep on the land and Bos agreed not knowing what else to do with the land. He receives a decent amount of money from the farm but is taken advantage of a little bit because of his limited thinking capacity ..although trying to fool someone so large can eventually come back to bite you. |
