The Turbulent Times

Issue #4

Lerion Lost!!

The rumors have proven to be true. The armies of Gwent and Lerion have been defeated outside of Caer Lerion. It is rumored that a ghost army kept the army occupied to the south but it was not enough. Now more than ever there is a need for a united Britain. Let's hope we can unite.

Eira Feared Dead

The king of Gwent's own champion, Eira, is feared dead after the battle of Lerion. It is rumored that she led a small band of warriors to stall the Saxon armies to the south of Caer Lerion. Stories indicate that she fought valiantly and was only overcome when the odds were 30 to 1. Nobody knows exactly what happened to her but because she was taken by the Saxons she is surely dead now. A ceremony in her honor is scheduled for next week.

A Cure to a Curse

A recent issue mentioned the efforts of an unknown druid to acquire more power. It has since been learned that the object of that rumor was Prydderch of Dortrig. In fact he has been sent to york to establish the validity of the rumors of magical creatures there and to affect a cure.

Celebration of the death of the sun

Hundreds of people converged on stonehenge last month to celebrate the 105th anniversary of the death of the sun. It was a 105 years ago that the sun dissappeared from the sky for two years. Many Catholic priests took this opportunity to turn out and preach the apocolyptic message that this event symbolized.

Who's Next?

Whit the fall of Lerion many are left with the inevitable question...who's next? Many speculate that Ceri is next in line although no one is ruling out any country at this point.

"Organized" Wolves Cause Problem Near York

Farmers in York are running scared these days. Large packs of wolves appear to be systematically ridding the countryside of its people. There are reports of packs with over 100 individuals. There are even stranger stories of giant wolves leading these large packs.

Dragons in York?

Sources who wish to remain anonymous are telling a seemingly wild tale that there was a dragon at the temple of Rheda who killed their high priest, Cryda. Lord Cryda could not be reached for comment. However, restructuring of the cult's heirarchy suggests some credence to the stories.

The Opinion Column

In these pages we print your opinions. Let us know what you think. If you can't write than come over to our scribes and they will dictate for you. Please keep your opinions on the king and our wonderful country to yourselves, unless they are good - no point in loosing our heads now.

Cadwallon for High King!!!

- Doyl

It's only a matter of time before the Saxon's march on us.

- Pote

Why don't we have Bos, the king of Ceri, march on Lerion? I hear he can defeat a whole army by himself.

-Cracow

Can anyone tell me which mushroms I can eat and which ones will make me feel weird?

- Ariel

Where are the Gods now?

The Rumours Abound

Cadwallon's family trouble. It is rumored that Cadwallyn's bid for high king of Britain may be in jeapordy. It is believed that his brother is very jealous of him and may try to sabotage his attempt to gain the crown.

The beasts of York. Rumor has it that priests in York, claiming to be the followers of Rheda, are creating an army. However, this army is rumored to be made up of magical creatures. The order's intent is unclear but it can't be good.

King Arthur's sword. It has been believed for sometime that the hilt of king Arthur's first sword, not Excalibur, still exists and that there is great power to be had from it.

Stay away from farm animals? Some druids are warning people that intercourse with your herds is the cause of many skin lesions and severe itching.

Obituaries

In rememberance to those who fell at Lerion.

The Monster Corner

We have all heard of the stories of wondrous and mystical creatures. Some we have no doubt exist but others make us wonder what plant the person ate that told the story. This section is to provide information to you just in case you ever run into one of these creatures.

This issue's creature is the Dwarf. We all have our favorite dwarf anecdedotes but very few of us know anything about these strange little men and women. Below are a few signs to look for that can tell you have a dwarf around.

If all of your valuables have teeth marks in them then you might have a dwarf problem.

If after waking up you still hear the ringing of "hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work we go...." Then you might have a dwarf problem.

How do you determine if a dwarf is a male or female?

Look for the one with the most facial hair and swears the loudest.
