Background/History: Eric Buck is a broken shell of the psychic warrior he was a year ago. Because he has spent so much of that time fighting in the Mind Zone, and because of the traumatic nature of the psychic wounds inflicted in those innumerable battles, he no longer even remembers a life before. He can no longer enter the Mind Zone as deeply nor for as long at a time, but subjectively he has spent an entire lifetime at war.

Personality/Motivation: Eric Buck still obeys superior officers out of habit but it is becoming evident even to the mind-blind that his days as an effective combatant are nearly over, if not already ended.

Quote: You Ask Me Why I'm Weary Why I Can't Speak To You/You Blame Me For My Silence, Say It's Time I Changed And Grew/But The War's Still Going On

Powers/Tactics: Besides going mind to mind with other psionic soldiers, he was often used as an assassin due to his ability to force even non-mentalists onto the mental plane and there shred them literally to death with a lethal attack that would also leave him dangerously depleted. The ability to enter a healing trance after such an attack made it a viable tactic, but his ability to recover in trance is no longer as powerful either. He can probably manage it one more time....

Appearance: More than any other physical trait, what is noticed and remembered about this veteran of the psychic wars is the palsy. His experiences have left him not only shaken, but shaking. To those who see with a third eye, his appearance is ghastly. While still alive, his aura is the bleached out blue of an old corpse that has lost all trace of the former personality that animated it, with only a hint of opalescence, like a seashell, betraying his psychic potential.

Veteran of the Psychic Wars song by Blue Oyster Cult, lyrics by Eric Bloom and Michael Moorcock. ĘThe character sheet is by Lucius Alexander, copyright Palindromedary Enterprises.
