The JL421 Badonkadonk (pronounced "ba-donk-a-donk") is the creation of Neal Ormond IV and Frank Pollock of NAO Design. Wanting to build something different and unique, they started with a go cart chassis and engine, added a steel sell, and then built in a wide variety of accessories, including: headlights, brake lights, turn signals, rope lights, strobe lights, underbody neon tubes, LEDS, sound system, external camera and monitor, fog machine, and PA system.
Nicknamed "Donk", the JL421 sits on four wheels, with a heavy-duty rubber skirt that gives an inch of ground clearance (making the Donk resemble a hovercraft), while still being flexible enough for passage of uneven terrain. It can carry up to five people, with a fully carpeted interior and internal accent lighting. The driver sits up front, and can pilot the Donk while standing and sticking his head through the roof hatch. Steel mesh screens and vertical slats protect the windows and allow people inside the Donk to see outside without being seen themselves. Driven by an air-cooled, 6hp Tecumseh gasoline engine, the Donk has a top speed of 40 mph.
The JL421 Badonkadonk can be purchased (each is built per order) and customized to meet the needs of the buyer. Price is $19,999.95 and you can fine it both on the naodesign.net website or on Amazon! (Just type in "tank" to find it). Apparently, NAO Design is working on a follow-up to the Donk, with the new vehicle possibly having a flame-thrower.
