Background/Personality: Jolly is not just a giant, he’s a plant giant. Not as well-known or fearsome race as the cave giants, storm giants, and others, the plant giants are normally content to raise their giant vegetables on farms in the clouds. Oh, sure, a plant giant gets bad press now and then, like the one who climbed partway down the magical beanstalk, but for the most part, plant giants are simple country folk on a larger scale.

Jolly was so named because of his cheerful outlook on life. A continual laugher as a child (born a trifle small, at a mere 75 inches, 180 pounds), Jolly grew up a happy optimist. He enjoyed working outdoors, getting dirty, and harvesting the fruits of his labors.

Then one day in the late 1930s, during a terrible series of tornadoes, Jolly’s cloud started to break up as twisters twisted their way into its foundation. Jolly fell through a hole created by a spout powerful enough to lift a house, and landed in Kansas. It took him over a month to fully recover from a terminal velocity fall, but he was soon none the worse for wear.

Initially, unable to find a farm of suitable size for his talents and appetite, Jolly finally met up with an ambitious farmer who shared his passion for vegetables. Together, they began leasing, then purchasing, acre upon acre, mile upon mile of cheap farmland. With Jolly’s expertise, and the farmer’s gift for fundraising, they quickly established a produce company such as the world had never seen.

Quote: “Ho, ho, ho! Have my green beans – they’re fresh from the garden.”

Tactics/Powers: The Jolly Green Giant is huge. He’s 25 feet tall, with a 12-foot reach, and incredible strength.

Roleplaying Notes: Vin Diesel meets Jim Varney.
