Background/History: Ever since she was a little girl, Misato wanted to see the universe. She wanted to visit strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and go where no one else had been before. When she was old enough, Misato joined the Jurai Stellar Scouts, and was able to do just that.
Eventually, Misato's travels took her to the planet Earth. She knew of the system, and knew that some reports said the people of Jurai had come from there long ago, so she decided to take a closer look. After carefully scanning the planet with long range sensors, Misato found the area around the Olympic Mountains to be very much like home. The tall trees, lush vegetation and thick forests resembled Jurai greatly. Hiding her ship, Misato promptly started her studies in xeno-biology.
It was soon after beginning her biological examinations of the area that she met one of the local inhabitants, a soft-spoken easy-going park ranger named Nicholas. Finding herself attracted to this man, she started to think up excuses that would allow her to spend more time with him. As for Nicholas, the explanation that she was a foreign scientists doing a forestry survey seemed to answer most of his questions. Eventually, the two started to spend a great deal of time together and Nicholas began to think about marriage. As luck would have it (or, perhaps, unluck) the two were caught in a nearly lethal rockfall while out hiking one day. Misato, thinking fast, dispersed most of the debris with an Energy Pulse and blocked the rest with a Energy Barrier. The result was that the two were still alive, but now Nicholas had some very pressing questions he needed answered.
After a long talk, in which Misato explained where she was from and why she was here (she really was doing a forestry survey), Nicholas realized that he didn't mind all that much that his girlfriend was an alien, and asked Misato to marry him. Misato, overjoyed at the question, said yes.
Currently, Misato lives near Port Angeles, doing her best to watch over her husband and keep her son out of trouble. She has found that family life has cooled her wander lust to some extent and she is happy and content to remain where she is, well, for the next few decades anyway.
Personality/Motivation: If Misato can be summed up in one word, it would be "enthusiastic." She takes a great zest in life, and has tried to instill this same sense of vigor in Ryan. She laughs frequently, talks loudly and is great fun to be around, even if she seems to have decided to make her life's mission to embarrass her son in creative and amusing ways (see the Quotes below for an example). Ryan's friends usually think his mom is totally cool, even if she is certifiably insane.
All humor aside, Misato is also fiercely protective of her family. Although she realizes that her son can take care of himself (and her husband as well) she will not allow anyone to bring harm to either one. Threatening her son and especially her husband is a wonderful way to get her attention, as well as ending up on the receiving end of more possible pain than anyone in the right mind would want to experience.
Misato is also fairly dedicated to her work, and spends a great deal of time in the field (either in the mountains or along the coast). As she can produce a virtual keyboard (that connects to the computer on her ship) at will, data entry is fairly easy. Misato will also check up on her husband and son occasionally by using her flight power. Usually she does this to drop off something they need or forgot (or she wants to give to them), or if she is feeling bored. With Ryan, his mom always seems to pick the worst possible moment to do this.
Quote: "Ryan's ex-girlfriend? Naah, not really. I'm married and my husband is tall, strong, and sooooooooo good in bed and he... Yamadake? What's wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Try and harm my husband will you? I hope you're ready to DIE!"
"Yamadake are you going out on a date? Did you bring protection? Why are you so red? Do you have a fever?"
Powers/Tactics: As with many Jurai engaged in her line of work, Misato is capable of manifesting powerful surges of Jurai energy. She can release this energy in the form of direct blasts, or create defensive fields and screens. She can also fly, transport instantly from place to place, and use her power to partially phase out of existence, allowing her to pass through walls and other barriers.
Although Misato has what are basically the same powers are her son Ryan, her power level is just a bit higher. She is stronger and tougher than her son, but the two have about the same reaction time (although Ryan does seem to have an edge in over all speed). Misato doesn't need to "power up" like Ryan does, although she can assume a high-energy state that does increase her Strength and Endurance.
As a trained Jurai Stellar Scout, Misato has a scattering of Science skills relating to biology and xeno-biology. She is also fairly knowledgeable about Jurai and Jurai culture, as well as certain aspects of local space and its inhabitants. Her time on Earth has enabled her to picked up fluent (if accented) English, and Nicholas has taught her survival tips for getting around the Olympic Mountains. Finally, Misato can pilot a standard Jurai scoutship and is familiar with an assortment of standard Jurai energy weapons.
Misato's Stellar Scout ship is hidden away. Where exactly is up to the Game Master. Options include: orbit (risky), in the forest (ditto, but less so), and underwater somewhere (best option). The ship itself is fairly small, capable of holding maybe six people comfortably and can cruise from Earth to Jurai with ease. It is armed (and armored) but not very well, as it is only a survey ship after all. As with all Jurai ships, the inside reminds one more of a park than a spaceship.
Appearance: Misato is fairly tall (but shorter than her husband) with an excellent athletic figure. Although she is well over 200 years-old, she looks to be only 25 or so, and often passes herself off as Ryan's older sister. Her skin is lightly tanned, her eyes are bright purple, and her hair -- which is very straight, and very long, falling almost to the ground -- is a pale lavender. Normally she dresses in casual clothing common to late 1980's America, but on formal occasions she will wear proper Jurai dress (which looks like an elaborate multilayered Japanese kimono with assorted extras). Her Jurai battlesuit consists of a formfitting bodysuit in dark purple, with black gloves, boots, belt and trim.
