These character adaptations are drawn directly from the weird and wild world of Hong Kong action cinema as well as Japanese samurai and ninja films. Here you will find gunfighters, cops, martial artists, sorcerers, ghosts... the list goes on and on. As a side note, I've also included characters from Big Trouble in Little China, since this movie was so heavily inspired by Hong Kong cinema (specifically Tsui Hark's Zu: Warriors of the Magic Mountain).
